Today was B-E-A-U-tiful day.......HOT but beautiful.

I have come to a very important conclusion this weekend.  If you REALLY need to clean your house, but just cant get motivated...have company.  NOTHING will light a fire under my butt faster than knowing that my friends (or worse...people who DONT know me) are going to be coming over.  All those things that I have been able to overlook for days...weeks....even months now become glaringly obvious.

Case in point, we had friends over for dinner tonight.  We havent seem them in a while as they live in Williams Lake.  Actually they hadnt been to our house in over 2 years....we had visited with them, just not HERE. 

SO.....I know they are coming and everywhere I turn, I see stuff that I want to have done.  My cupboard doors, I took them down with the idea that I would take off the handles, hinges, sand,clean repaint them and the cupboards, repaint the handles and hinges and then put them all back up in the space of a week.  I must have been HIGH to think I could do all that!! 

Needless to say I had the cupboards painted, the hinges and handles were all clean and ready to paint.  The doors were in varying states of done-ness (is that a word?) and it had been this way for ummmmm ......a few weeks?     Last week I started the process of cleaning up my messes, I got all the hinges and handles painted and prepped the remaining doors.  

Yesterday I worked  530 - 130 yesterday, met Dillon at the mall after work, shopped some, picked up the other 3 at 430 - came home and started painting.  I even got so far as to put some hinges on finished doors.  I did the remaining painting and did some strategic planning for today.  I didnt get to bed till 1am - fun since I had been up since 4am!!

I was up and working by 9am this morning.  I got all the hinges on - cleaned up the messes on the sundeck - did a run to the bottle depot, went shopping for dinner, scrubbed the sundeck floor, (with help) rehung all 18 cupboard doors, and put the handles on.  I had the kids clean up the back yard last night because it looked like we were running a redneck junk yard!!  The crap-to-grass ratio was startlingly high!!   Darin was working on the inside of the house, and the kids were helping, so by the time the company got here around 5 it was almost tolerable. ..........................

Whew - now Im good till the next time we have company - Hopefully it wont be TOO SOON !!!

Back by popular demand.......ME.  I swear - Im trying to post more than ONCE a month!! 

You know, after sitting in front of a computer all day - having people turn me down for shifts, and others calling   '_itching' about no one to work those shifts, I just dont feel like getting on my computer.  I wish I could check on the journals while Im working, but there just isnt time.  

We have huge drama at work right now, my boss is leaving the dept, HER boss is leaving the dept, and we are adding new positions (temporary ones).  We are over 40 women and 1 man working together, that is ALOT of ovaries - let me tell you.  To top it all off, we are union, so it seems to me (from someone who has never been part of a union) that everying gets blown out of proportion.  Dont get me wrong I like the benefits of being in the union, but its certainly different from any other position I have been in before.  The upside to all this is that I might end up with a position instead of being just casual.  I would like to get one of the new temp lines that run till March of 07 - just to try it out.

I am also expanding my horizons a little.  My friend Trina and I are taking a Medical Terminology course online this fall, and then in January will more than likely take the Nursing Unit Clerk course online tool.  We have plenty of work for Unit Clerks at our hospital.  Just getting the Medical Terminology will expand my opportunities immensely. 

I read on the other journals that Bear and Suna and even J are having 'tude problems with their kids.  PICK ME, PICK ME  - I am so close to just tearing out my freakin hair over my 11 yr old girl.  EVERYthing that comes out of her mouth has a snotty sound to it.  She is really pushing it.  She is a hair under 5 ft tall, and weighs 70lbs soaking wet.  When she has a spazz attack and gets sent to her room, she tries to slam her door, but she doesnt have a doorknob - ha ha ha ha ha !!!  She stomps around the basement - and I can HEAR her!! Its CEMENT...  I am upstairs and I can HEAR her - how is that physically possible?  I just dont know. 

The other night I was playing on the computer and she comes to me and asks if I could get her a razor, I said for what?  She said for the HAIR IN HER ARMPITS!!!  OMG!!  I even asked her to show me...........she HAS it!!  I almost dropped a load in my shorts right there!!  I was under the impression from what I had read (and what my Dr said too) that skinny girls didnt get into puberty as soon as ......less skinny girls.  I went shopping the other day and bought an electric razor for her - I havent given it to her yet, but I will soon.  She said that one of her friends had noticed the hair under her arms.  Good lord I am NOT ready for this yet. 

Riley is just scattered these days - hes all boy - its the last 2 weeks of school, and he just wants out!!  If I raise my voice to him, he usually pulls his head out of whereever it is.   Darin bought a riding mower a couple months ago.  I just learned how to use it last week.  Im Liking it for sure.  I go out there, I get the lawn done, I cant hear anyone, I get drive around my yard, I toodle around, its fun.  and the lawn looks great too!!

Well I think thats about enough for tonight...........I do stop in and read, I dont always comment tho.   I am going for lunch with my Sis in Law and Mom on Thurs, looking forward to that.  Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Hello All!!

Sorry I havent been around too much lately, I have been reading, just havent had the time or inclination to post.  With spending my work days in front of a computer, its not what I want to do when Im at home. 

Although the reason for the trip was a sad one (and she has my Deepest sympathies) I was VERY happy to see my Bestest Friend Bear on Mother's Day.  I saw her while she was at Berv's house.  I miss her lots everyday. 

Due to the HOT weather showing up, I had to pull out the fans and clean them up early this year.  We do NOT have central air, something I am hoping to remedy SOON!!

I am looking forward to having this weekend off.  I have Sat Sun Mon off, a switch from working the last 3 weekends in a row.  We are not going anywhere or doing anything special.  Maybe I will take the kids to a movie or something.  The boys are not supposed to be coming this weekend, but I wouldnt hold my breath on that one. 

Well I should get my lunch made for tomorrow.  I am on 730 - 330.  Hope you all have a good weekend.
